Earlier this month, we marked World Suicide Prevention Day 2021, which happens on the 10th September every year, in order to provide worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides. We shared some very brave stories from our Champions who spoke out to remove the stigma around seeking help if you have suicidal thoughts.

Rosie shares her story of being stigmatised after reaching out for help when in crisis

Mark speaks out about the stigma around men’s mental health, calling for a need for a culture change around help seeking.

Jess shares her experience of when she reached out for help in crisis, and offers some advice for how not to stigmatise someone who is feeling suicidal.

“Mental health does not discriminate, so why should we?”

"There is stigma by the older generation and an attitude to just ‘get on with it’ – which may have delayed the time for me to seek help."

“I want to be a catalyst for change wherever I can”

“Being vulnerable and looking to learn something new to help your physical and mental wellbeing is a major strength. It’s difficult, which is why it can be scary. It’s so worth it, though!”
