Two Weeks to Get Wales Talking!

November 2012 was a busy time for us. We helped organise a debate in the Senedd about mental health stigma and discrimination and launched our first major social media campaign, Two Weeks to Get Wales Talking!

Our aim was to get as many people as possible to do what four Assembly Members did at the Senedd debate – start a conversation about mental health to help end stigma.

We know it worked because of the messages people sent us. Some people opened up about their own experiences or talked to friends and family about mental health for the very first time.

“It was comparatively recently that someone told me that one in four people will suffer from mental illness at some stage in their lives. It was at that very moment that I realised that what I had suffered some years previously was not as odd or abnormal or weird as I had thought.” Llyr Huws Gruffydd, Plaid Cymru Assembly Member for North Wales and TTCW champion
"It would be SO much easier if I had broken a leg or something" #GetWalesTalking about #mentalhealth to #EndStigma TWTGWT tweet
